Unique Note

In order to generate funding and opportunities for my racing career I have taught myself new skills and been involved in a number of projects and roles including web design, an online watch store, marketing and managing logistics and operations for a global events company. Currently, I run Vertex VIP, a boutique track event agency which I co-founded in 2019.

Personal Approach

Racing has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember, it has taught me many life lessons and shaped me into who I am today. The pursuit of the next opportunity, and the never-ending pursuit of self-improvement in order to show up and be as competitive as possible to, one day, be able to say that I am one of the best in the world is what motivates me every day.

Biography

Cadet Karting / 2007–2010

Alex started karting at the age of 8, competing initially in local club-level competitions. After he won the club championship at one of his local tracks in 2008, his first full season, the decision was made to compete in the WTP LGM British Karting Championship in 2009. This higher level of competition led to fast improvements, from finishing 23rd in 2009, to finish 9th overall in 2010.

WTP LGM British Karting Champion / 2011

Carrying on the momentum from 2010, Alex moved from a ‘Lad and Dad’ operation to running with a professional team, JM Racing for the first time. He won the WTP Cadet Winter Series with three wins out of three, before taking the British title with one round to go after six wins out of seven races.

This meant he was the 2011 British Champion as well as breaking a number of championship records including: (1) most wins in a season, (2) first person to win all three heats, qualify on pole position, set the fastest lap and win the final in the same race meeting, and (3) highest points total ever.

Rotax Minimax Super One / 2012–2013

After the success of 2011, Alex moved up to the Junior ranks, racing in the Super One Series against future stars of F1 including Lando Norris and Zhou Guanyu. Despite running with a fraction of the budget of his competitors, Alex showed well, collecting a number of top-five finishes.

The Transition to Cars / 2013

At the end of the year, Alex entered the Ginetta Junior Scholarship, a prestigious competition in which young drivers are subject to three days of grueling driving, media and fitness assessments in the hope of winning the ultimate prize, a fully funded season racing in the Ginetta Junior Championship the following year.

Despite never having driven a race car, and only having learned to use a clutch around a week prior to the competition, Alex won the competition in his first attempt.

Ginetta Junior Championship / 2014

As a result of winning the Ginetta Junior Scholarship, Alex competed in a full season of the Ginetta Junior Championship. Against an incredibly talented grid (some of which have gone on to race in F1, F3, W Series, BTCC & DTM) and having minimal prior car racing experience, he finished the championship in 10th place overall, with one class win.

French F4 & Renault UK CLIO Cup / 2015

After a short break from racing to complete his GCSE exams, Alex competed in the Magny-Cours round of the FFSA French F4 Championship bringing home a top ten finish in his single-seater debut. He also competed in the final two rounds of the Renault UK Clio Cup, where he qualified 5th on his debut at Silverstone and ended the season with a top 5 result at Brands Hatch.

International Endurance Racing / 2016–2017

In 2016, Alex made his international debut at the Dubai 24 Hours. In at the deep end, he went up against factory drivers and WEC champions, finishing 7th in class. Alex again competed in the Dubai 24 Hours to start the year, leading a brand new team to endurance racing to a second-place finish. He then went on to qualify on pole and win the Imola 12 Hours over the summer.

Nascar Whelen Euro Series / 2018–2019

2018 saw a return to full-season competition, placing 12th in the PRO Category of the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series, with four podiums, two top-five and five top-ten finishes.

Alex returned to the series in 2019 and started the season on the podium in Valencia. Unfortunately, due to reliability issues with the car Alex decided to take a break in the midseason to regroup, before returning for the final round where once again he ended up on the podium by winning the Junior Trophy. 

Transitioning to the USA / 2020

When plans for 2020 were disrupted by COVID-19, Alex focused his efforts on making his dream of racing in the USA a reality.​ 

This hard work paid off when Alex made his ARCA Menards Series West debut at Phoenix Raceway on November 7, 2020. ​In his first oval start, Alex came home with a strong finish, overtaking and outpacing the series champion.

Chasing Opportunities / 2021–2022

Hot off of his oval debut at the end of 2021, Alex was offered the chance to complete the ARCA Menards Series test at Daytona. The test was a success, earning Alex his approval to race at superspeedways.

​Whilst working on future opportunities, Alex made a return to the NASCAR Euro Series for his home race, finishing on the podium for his first time driving the car since the end of 2019. A year later in 2022, Alex was called up last minute to drive in the series again, this time at Vallelunga. Despite never having driven the circuit before, Alex drove through the field into the top ten, although car issues put pay to a podium challenge.
