What is it?
Anyone can enter, whether you’re a sim-racer, a karter, or someone with no experience racing at all.
We’re searching for the person who has all the right attributes to make it as a professional race car driver: the passion, the work ethic, and the grit, but they just haven’t had the opportunity or the financial backing to start a career.
Our 8 finalists will travel to New Jersey Motorsports Park this November to face 3 days of competition, where you’ll face fitness tests, media and marketability assessments, knowledge tests, and a variety of on track challenges in our new-for-2025 race cars to see if you have what it takes to start your racing career.

Only 888 people can enter the shootout before applications close on May 31, when the PT Autosport team will select the most promising 88 Applicants to progress to Round 2.
After a new brace of challenges and opportunities to prove yourself, we’ll cut down the applicants to our 8 Finalists, who will travel to New Jersey Motorsports Park to compete in the shootout on November 3-5, 2025.
Over 3 days of competition, you’ll face assessments designed to test you on every aspect of being a professional race car driver, from setup knowledge to media skills.

What is the Aspiring Driver Shootout?
The Aspiring Driver Shootout is an annual event hosted by PT Autosport, where drivers between the age of 18 and 23 will have the opportunity to compete in a shootout competition measuring their fitness, media, interview, problem-solving, teamwork, and racecraft skills.
How do I know if I am eligible to compete?
Complete and submit the application form! You must be between the ages of 18 and 23 years-old on November 3, 2025.
Is there any cost to enter?
The only cost to enter the Aspiring Driver Shootout is a single-time $88 application processing fee.
How many submissions are you accepting?
The 2025 Aspiring Driver Shootout will be limited to 888 accepted applications.

New Jersey Motorsports Park (NJMP) at 8000 Dividing Creek Road, Millville, NJ 08332
When will it be held?
Please arrive at 7pm on Sunday, November 2, 2025 at the selected hotel near NJMP. The 2025 Aspiring Driver Shootout will conclude with an awards dinner held on the evening of Wednesday, November 5, 2025.
What are the potential rewards for the selected 8 competitors?
- 1st Place – Driver partnership program with PT Autosport which will provide support of up to $250K ($50K guaranteed) for the 2026 and 2027 seasons.
- 2nd Place – $10K towards any race school or coaching program. 1-year contract option for driver partnership. Invited to test days and paddock access at all races that we participate in for the 2026 season.
- 3rd Place – $5K towards any race school or coaching program. 1-year contract option for driver partnership. Invited to test days and paddock access at all races that we participate in for the 2026 season.
Are there any costs for me if I am selected to be one of the eight competitors in the 2023 Aspiring Driver Shootout?
Lodging, food, and beverages will be provided at no cost to competitors. Travel will not be provided, so travel will be the only additional cost to the competitor.
How does the driver partnership work?
The driver partnership will be a limited liability company in the name of the driver (i.e. Gina Bell Racing, LLC) where the funding will be contributed by PT Autosport or its affiliates. All partnership expenses will go towards the driver’s development including, but not limited to, race entry fees & consumables, driver coaching, track side support, travel and lodging. The driver partnership will own the driver’s brand name for any revenue earned for up to 10 years from driver partnership start date, which includes race earnings, driver-specific sponsorships, coaching, merchandise sold, and any other income received related to the driver’s brand name. Net income of the driver partnership will be split ⅔ to the driver and ⅓ to PT Autosport or its affiliates. PT Autosport will provide business services (talent management, accounting, office/travel management, and social media/website brand management) for the driver partnership. Management of the driver partnership would be by committee including the driver and the STEAM Team of PT Autosport.
Terms as outlined can also be covered by a signed driver contract.
